ICWIS 2009 organizing committee invites you to participate in the International Conference to be held in Chennai, India on January 8-10, 2009. The World-Wide Web continues to grow and new technologies, modes of interactions and applications are being developed. Web Intelligence offers a new direction for scientific research and development that goes beyond basic information retrieval and knowledge queries. New research challenges needs to be addressed in the areas of managing web content and to organize and integrate information from different sources. Innovative and novel uses of the Web and Web resources need to be adapted to create a distributed intelligence environment. ICWIS will provide a prime international forum for both researchers and industry practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances and application of intelligent methods applied to the next generation of Web and Web empowered systems, products and services and to discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. Previously unpublished papers describing original research contribution are solicited. Papers may represent advances in theory, design, experimental efforts, practical experiences, and industrial and commercial developments either for general use or for specific application domains.

PAPER SUBMISSION
Extended abstract limited to 3 pages and full papers are required to be submitted. Papers that exceed this limit will be rejected without review. Papers should neither have been published elsewhere nor currently under review by another conference or journal. Guidelines on abstract and paper submission and formatting are available on the website. All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 program committee members. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceeding. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register to the conference and present the paper. Extended versions of selected best papers published in the ICWIS 2009 may be invited for publication in the Journal of ________ (can we have a tie up?). One Best Paper award and one Best Student Paper award will be granted. The first author of the best student paper must be full-time student.
