How faculty can contribute

The primary objective of the Kerala Education Grid is to sharply upgrade the quality of instruction in the engineering educational institutions of Kerala. Teachers, hence, become the prime motivator of this initiative. Under this the teachers would be able to upgrade their skills and expertise through regular and fruitful consultations with the experts in the field and utilizing vast resources of the web. This would open them a new world challenges and that in turn will be beneficial to the students as well as the teaching community in general.

Teachers would form the backbone of the Education Grid with their constant feedback and fruitful support through the Course Expert Groups, Content Authors and channelising the materials and programmes. Teachers would be the main channels for the students to access the services of the Education Grid. Teachers can utilize the existing materials approved by the grid and at the same they can also create their own contents for the local use. This will help them to horn their own methods of instruction depending up on the level of students of various classes. Further it gives them the option of reusing the materials and contents from time to time.

The teachers would constitute the feedback flow of KEG. The teachers would rate the materials and critically evaluate the pedagogic methods followed. This will help the KEG to modify and upgrade their own system according the need of the students and education system without compromising the accepted standards.
